Escaping Fate was my first published book. It wasn’t even a series then. So, I didn’t design the originally cover with a series theme in mind. The original cover art was a painting I did of the Aztec god Tlaloc. It turned out really neat, but it never really worked that well as a book cover.
The original cover for Soul Stone was also my own artwork, a chalk pastel drawing of a soul stone with a Celtic design. I really loved the artwork and the book cover, but the two didn’t go together and neither one really communicated that these were young adult paranormal romance books.
I kept the artwork as part of the new designs, but added in models and more paranormal elements to clarify the genre and age range.
